photo copy 20Dr. Michael Sudduth’s teaching career spans over 20 years and includes institutions such as the Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (Oxford, England), Calvin College (Grand Rapids, Michigan), Saint Michael’s College (Colchester, Vermont)—where Sudduth received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor in 2002—and San Francisco State University (San Francisco, California), where he has taught since 2005.

Dr. Sudduth has taught a variety of introductory courses in philosophy, philosophy of religion, comparative religion, critical thinking, and formal logic.  He has taught upper-division courses in epistemology, metaphysics, eastern philosophy and religion, and philosophy of religion, as well as designed lower- and upper-division courses in philosophy of religion.

At San Francisco State University, he regularly teaches World Religions, Philosophy of Religion, Medieval Philosophy, the Nature of Religious Experience, Introduction to Philosophy and Religion, and Directed Readings in Religious Studies (a supervisory reading and research course). He is a reader for a limited number of graduate students in the Philosophy Department working on MA theses on topics of interest to him in epistemology, metaphysics, and philosophy of religion. He is also the former coordinator of the Religious Studies Program in the College of Liberal and Creative Arts at San Francisco State University.
